After a rigorous nomination period, we put up a voting ballot of the establishments that you told us were your favorites. There were nine different categories to vote on; automotive, arts and entertainment, attractions and accommodations, food and drink, health and wellness, not-for-profit, people, shopping and services, and sports.
The nomination period was a huge success! We would like to offer our sincere Congratulations to the people and establishments that made it into the voting portion of the contest. The Pocono community spoke and nominated you the Best that the Poconos has to offer! What an honor!
You may have noticed that there were a few categories that did not make it into the voting process. The businesses and people that were on the ballots each had a minimum of 25 nominations and each category also had at least 5-8 individual businesses or people nominated. The voting stage of the competition ran from November 15, 2011 through midnight December 31, 2011. During this time, the Pocono community voted once per day per IP address per category for their favorites.
Especially considering that this was the first year, the voting portion of the contest was an enormous success. We sincerely thank all of the voters who contributed to the overall success of the 2012 Greatest AroundTM in the Poconos contest. We also look forward to another great contest next year! See you all soon… We hope you feel the way we do: September can’t come soon enough.
