With selfless hearts the great people at your local animal shelters help find homes for the fuzzy friends we call our pets. Animal shelters help to feed, bathe, provide basic medical care, and offer much needed love to the helpless animals that have no other place to go.  The Animal Welfare Society of Monroe has been voted “Best Animal Shelter/Rescue” for two years running. It’s no wonder with 2,500 animals that have been adopted or returned since they opened. They are dedicated to helping animals that are strays, homeless, neglected or abused. Their shelter works closely with volunteers and local facilities for veterinary medicine and pet behaviorists.
